As most of us are aware of the last several weeks the rapidly evolving situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we must not overreact to the situation, it is only prudent to follow some simple instructions from the lead federal agency addressing the situation, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention commonly referred to as the “CDC“. See attached some quick reference guides. These basic guides apply not only to daily life but are free for unlimited distribution with family or work. I encourage all referee members, families and friends to stay educated on the subject (as the guidance does change), ignore rumors, and practice healthy lifestyles and workplaces.
Please follow the advice and direction of our local RI Department of Health and follow their guidance.

The Rhode Island State Referee Committee has been monitoring this situation very closely and with the concern for the well-being and health of our membership, we are taking the following precautionary actions effective immediately:

- All 2020 Assignor certification and re-certification courses will move to 100 % virtual format
- All other Referee Program Events which require face-to-face arrangements will be tentatively delayed until 04/30/2020.
- Rhode Island State Referee Committee Board members’ meetings will also be done via web format until further notice.
