Super Liga Referee Initiative Program
A Superliga Referee Academy will be held on Thursday, September 13 at the Johnston
Soccer Complex in Johnston at 6:30 PM. All USSF Referees are welcome to
attend. Grade 8 and 9 referees interested in improving their game and getting
better assignments should strongly consider attending.

Dear Rhode Island Referees,
In order to change the direction of the Rhode Island State Referee Program, it has become
necessary to appoint an ad hoc restructuring committee. This committee is
composed of:
During the next 60 days we will be evaluating all aspects of the program
including governance, instruction, assessment, assignment and development. We
welcome your input in writing or by telephone. Confidentiality of any comments
or suggestions are guaranteed.
In the interim there will be no interruption in our current programs. All posted
referee certification clinics will go forward as scheduled. Any referee requiring
an assessment should contact Steven Mauricio at (401) 692-7285. Kelly Mauricio
remains as the adult assignor. All games and assignments remain in effect with no change.
A new SYRA has been appointed by Soccer RI;
Adel Cabral of Smithfield has agreed
to accept this position. Please feel free to contact Adel with any youth
referee questions.
The acting State Director of Instruction (SDI) will be
Jack Breetveld. He will be assisted by Al
